Iapos;m on the market for a backup cup. Iapos;ve had the same Keeper now for nearly 11 years, and while itapos;s in fine shape, I donapos;t like having just one.

For quite some time, I had the smaller Keeper and the smaller Diva -- something like two years? I havenapos;t had issue with either (apart from losing them on occasion). My Diva went missing several months ago, and itapos;s gotten to the point where Iapos;ve given up on it. Normally, Iapos;d just be patient and Iapos;d discover it behind something, or hidden somewhere a bit too clever. I suspect I left it out by accident, and my visiting parents threw it away.

I havenapos;t had issue with size, for either. I havenapos;t had any rubber reactions. I donapos;t leak with either (I kegel like crazy), and all the rest of that. The only thing Iapos;d done to both worth mentioning, I snipped off the stem almost completely for both. The length was never an issue. Iapos;m 31 and childfree.

All that taken into account, it kinda sounds to me like I have the luxury of simply selecting a cup thatapos;s cheap? oO Or have I oversimplified my decision making process?

About a week ago, a coworker and I were in the office discussing politics, the election, etc. You know, all the things everyone tells you to never talk about. Anyways, we got onto the subject of a personapos;s rights, and another coworker asked that I post my thoughts on them to LJ so she could link to them. So yapos;all can blame her for these musings...

As I recall, the subject came up when my coworker (the first one, not the one asking me to make this post) made the comment along the lines of "the Constitution gives us the right to..." This is one of my biggest pet peeves and why I think public schools are doing a disservice to their charges. There has been a growing trend, especially in Europe, to think that rights come from the government or from the Constitution. They donapos;t. Government (at least as spelled out in the US) doesnapos;t give us ANY rights, nor does the Constitution. The latter merely recognizes some of them.

To understand this, one has to go back to the Declaration of Independence. The most, at least in my opinion, under-taught of our founding documents. (Yes, it is a founding document and can be referenced as such. Sometimes is, in case law.)

I suppose it isnapos;t PC anymore to teach something that references a "Creator". Anyhoo, the point is that our rights are just that: oursapos;. They donapos;t come from the government, or the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights. They come from us. Or from our "Creator", depending on your thoughts in that regard. The Constitution, through the Bill of Rights, simply recognizes some of the more important of those rights. Well, at least from the point of view of the founders. So, remember that the next time someone (especially a condescending professor) tells us that the Constitution or the government "give us the right".

Oh, and for those of you who are strict-constructionists and say "the Constitution doesnapos;t give us that right", remember one of the more important parts of the above quote: "that among these are". The founding fathers were not so arrogant to believe that they had spelled out ALL our rights in the Constitution. Just some of the more important and threatening ones.

Ok, who stole my pictures out there???????? I logged on here and they were all gone. Ok, yes I know they not stolen, though I still donapos;t get why they arnapos;t here. Anyways, besides my pictures disappearing on me, not alot has been goin on. Just been busy, busy, sleeping, and then busy again. Oh, and somewhere in there I might grab some food. I know, fun life huh. Well, actually it is sorta fun because of what I busy with. Sadly it would take a bit of time (which I never seem to have much of) to explain what I been busy with, but letapos;s just say I found a reason to study lasers a bit more closely. It involves using them to cure a certain disease. What a surprise, stumbled on it by accident. All scientific discoveries are by accident. Still need to do some testing, but I think there definatly promising results so far.... More on this later. P.S. Please donapos;t tell people in the medical field.... Donapos;t want em knowin too much too soon. I have alot of reasons on why they shouldnapos;t know, but I just want it known that this is one reason why Iapos;m so busy latly. Wish me luck :)

So today was Willow 6 month needle. She did good, only cried for about a second. I was worried she was going to be fussy later on like the 4 month needles but nope she is pleasant and rolling on the blanket on the floor as I type this.

We got her weighted, sheapos;s now 23lbs. And now in the 78 percentile for height. I asked the nurse if they where using the new BFing charts and she said no they only had the formula ones. Not many places have the BFing charts, which neither one of us truly understands. At least she admit that there was 2 different ones unlike the stupid pediatrician that we had say a few weeks ago.The PHN also told us that meat is suppose to be introduced as a starter before veggies and fruits now because of the iron. Apparently this is a recent thing. Anybody else been told that.

She was shocked to know that Willow has hardly had any solids, and she was 23lbs. She couldnapos;t get over that it was all breast milk. Iapos;m very please with my boobs at the moment. :D

She also said that her fontanel is closing and to mention it to my family doctor next time I go.
